Skint This Summer? The Best Summer Jobs Abroad

Are you starting the summer with your bank balance looking a bit sorry for itself?  Finding a summer job can be a great way to make a little extra cash before you head back to university, but combine it with some travel and you could have great fun whilst you earn.

Plenty of companies operating in the UK and abroad are on the lookout for young and enthusiastic workers to fill seasonal vacancies.  If you fancy seeing some of the world and earning a little extra holiday cash, here are a few of the best summer jobs abroad which you might like to consider…

Club Med

Club Med are a major holiday company providing all-inclusive holidays in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.  They have 65 holiday villages and a number of cruise ships, and every year they recruit upwards of 1,000 people to help out in more than 100 different roles.

Whether you want to work behind the bar, mind children at the holiday clubs or help out in the spas and gyms, there’s something to suit every skillset with a little Mediterranean sunshine thrown in.

USA Summer Camp

If you fancy hopping across the pond to work this summer, then USA Summer Camp might be your best bet.  This company runs more than 500 camps across North America, from Miami, New York and LA to more obscure destinations.

They’re proud of the fact that everyone who applied for a job with them in 2017 got a placement, so you stand a good chance of getting in and finding a post to suit.

There’s the added advantage that your food and accommodation costs are all taken care of, so every dollar you earn is yours to keep.

Disneyland Paris

Some people live and breathe Disney – if that’s you, then there’s no better place to spend your summer than Disneyland Paris.  There are always lots of seasonal jobs going, covering everything from dressing up in character to greet guests to IT support, sales and catering.

Since it’s just a short hop away on the Eurostar, you can pop back home when it suits you to catch up with friends and regale them with stories about the magical kingdom.

Esprit Ski

If you really enjoy taking to the slopes and love your sport, Esprit Ski are a great company to work for.  They operate chalets and ski schools in resorts across Italy, France and Austria, and there are plenty of jobs going even for those with no skiing experience.

They’re always keen to hire seasonal staff to work in childcare and nannying, and they have a large catering and hospitality team to help keep things running smoothly for guests.  If you want a working holiday which doesn’t involve lounging on a beach in your free time, this is one to consider.

Totalnannies

If you enjoy looking after the little ones and want to experience ‘real’ life abroad, then there are plenty of summer vacancies going with Totalnannies.

This could be a great opportunity if you’re doing a language course and want some real experience and practice over the summer, or if you’re trying to learn the lingo in your free time.

They specialise in placing candidates with professional families right around the world, so wherever you dream of spending your summer, chances are you’ll find a placement suited to you.

Working abroad can be a fantastic experience, allowing you to broaden your horizons and earn a little spending money in the process.  It also looks great on your CV, so seize any opportunity you get and it could help you stand out from the crowd when it comes to applying for your first full-time graduate job.
