- Why did you come to Inspiring Interns?
- After graduating I underestimated how difficult the job market had become. I had moved to a new city and applied for 30+ jobs to no avail before I stumbled across Inspiring Interns through a search engine. After taking a look at the opportunities available on their website, I believed that getting a foot in the door of my chosen work sector and gaining experience, as well as local contacts, was a lot more useful than sitting at home waiting for the phone to ring.
- What kind of internship were you looking for?
- I was looking for something involving working with young people or in the political sphere, yet wasn't sure if either of those sectors would be a right fit for me. Inspiring Interns were very proactive, and quick at finding a great opportunity for me which incorporated both of those preferences.
- What did your internship involve and what did you learn?
- I have learned so much, and continue to! I was originally hired to coordinate the reporting and tracking of the processes undertaken by the company in order for them to become the sponsor of an academy school. The role has helped me to boost my confidence in speaking to people from all different sections of society; whether that be someone from a government department or a sixth form student in a school! I have also undertaken extra responsibilities and expanded my knowledge of working in communications, marketing and project management. This has coupled well with my original role which initially involved developing a new reporting system which is now being utilised by the whole company and also accommodated my own development as a versatile and flexible employee. My line manager has been keen to develop my role and expand it into several areas in the company which means no two days are the same!
- How influential do you feel your internship was in you gaining a permanent position?
- Well considering I was offered a permanent position 4 weeks into my internship I believe it was extremely influential! After having so much disappointment, when Inspiring Interns told me they believed this internship had the potential to develop into an exciting, permanent role, I was sceptical at first. However without the internship I would never have got into, nor thought of trying to get into, such an interesting field of work. Now I have the belief that I can thrive in a fast paced environment and, more importantly, in a competitive sector that I actually have an interest in and a passion for.

- Why did you come to Inspiring Interns?
- I came to Inspiring Interns to help further my learning and understanding of how companies work. It also gave me a great insight into many different job roles and helped keep my options open, whilst I decided which role would be best suited to me.
- What kind of internship were you looking for?
- When I first started I was looking for internships in graphic design, web development, online marketing and all things digital.
- What did your internship involve and what did you learn?
- My internship involved learning new skills. The world of ad operations. This meant setting up ads onto publisher sites and ensuring that orders are delivered for agencies. This has now expanded to make use of my skills from university and I am now building ads in Flash and creating new ad formats for publishers.
- How influential do you feel your internship was in you gaining a permanent position?
- My internship was the reason I am now in full time employment. Prior to this I had knockback after knockback due to lack of experience in the field that I wanted to work in. This has allowed me to prove myself to the company and thus gain experience in a field I am very excited to work in. Completing an internship can be difficult at first, but it gave both me and the employer insight into how beneficial a permanent position could be before making any commitments. Being a fresh graduate it also allowed me to "try a job on" before I decided to fully commit, and still leaving my career options open. The company in which I have been placed is a friendly, young and fun place to work, with a great team spirit. They are always pushing you to do better and really challenge yourself so the work is never dull. I also could not have mananged this without the excellent help of Inspiring interns as they helped sort out funding and giving me an excellent start to my future.
