This is a full-time position based in Northwich, paying £20-22k

Key responsibilities of the role;

  • Undertaking 1st Line helpdesk support
  • General PC knowledge proving technical support for internal business users (Windows 7/2008/2012)
  • Providing desktop hardware support and resolution
  • Provisioning of equipment for new staff
  • Ability to troubleshoot and provide resolution of incidents
  • Answering and logging of calls to helpdesk system
  • Monitoring the status of incidents reported escalating to IT System Manager
  • Writing reports
  • Coordinating IT business information/activity including interpretation of technical documentation

The ideal candidate’s personality and qualifications;

  • Educated to a degree level
  • Previous experience in an IT desktop support role
  • Installation and upgrading PC software on Windows 7
  • Basic knowledge of networking ( TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network devices, switches, networked printers
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Can-do attitude, friendly and flexible
  • Attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Windows permissions and access control
  • System Backup software ( Symantec Backup Exec)
  • Knowledge of VMWare and EMC SAN
  • SQL (MS and Oracle)
  • Firewall setup and rules
  • Office technology systems knowledge
  • MSSQL and Oracle 10G or above database
