How the candidate to spend their day:

  • Copywriting, editing and publishing (e.g. press releases, articles for newsletters, case studies).
  • Analysis of the success of communications campaigns and output.
  • Digital communications such as TV advertising, event invitations and surveys, taking a large role in writing for our weekly e-newsletter.
  • Updating the company’s intranet home page with communications news
  • Assisting with internal and external events, including leadership calls and conferences

The ideal candidate's personality and qualifications:
  • Excellent written skills and strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of Photoshop and other graphic design programs
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Effective communication and documentation abilities
  • Excellent verbal and presentation skills
  • Research and analysis skills
  • Confident and happy to take the lead where appropriate
  • A quick learner and open to learning about the breadth of areas covered by internal and external communications
  • Able to work for at least one semester full time and fulfil the University’s required hours
  • Enrollment in accredited Bachelor’s Degree program or higher, and coursework in the area(s) related to the internship opportunity. A background in journalism or media studies would be very beneficial.
