This charity is the UK national charity for people living with Neurofibromatosis (NF), one of the most common neuro-genetic conditions, which causes tumours to grow on nerve-endings, leading to a multitude of issues. The charity funds a national network of Neurofibromatosis Specialist Nurses & Advisors to support those diagnosed with NF, and their families, in hospitals, at home, in schools, and in the work place.
This is a six month part-time role (3 days/21 hrs).
How you expect the candidate to spend their day:
We are looking for someone who is willing to take the initiative to help research the potential for events, and get the groundwork set up for them (contacting potential contractors, supporters, venues, or other interested parties).
The role will be an opportunity to flex their researching muscles - getting creative and coming up with new ways to engage our community based on data that they will gather (with the support of our team). The successful candidate will report into the Operations and Marketing Manager and support both the Communications and Fundraising teams on an ad-hoc basis.
During the year, certain events require staff to work on a Saturday or Sunday, alongside a UK travel. In these events, time off in lieu is offered.
The ideal candidate’s personality and qualifications:
The candidate must be digitally competent, as they will be based within a highly digital team. It is a must that they are able to use MS Office, Google suite, Social media, etc natively. It is preferable that they are at least familiar with CMS and have experience organising and hosting social campaigns.
Additionally, we are a tight-knit team, therefore it is important that we bring someone in who is a keen and amiable team player.

As part of the Operations and Marketing team – you will help further the cause and have a serious impact on their livelihood, the perception of the public and drive decision makers.
The working hours are set for this role, but what days you work can be defined by you. They have to be the same each week, but you get to choose, although if needs be, there is a degree of flexibility.
Annual leave is five weeks per annum, plus bank holidays, pro rata.
