Our client is a high-tech new media company providing industry-leading solutions in mobile and digital communications.

Their SaaS system is in use by some of the biggest brands around the globe, and allows them to deliver highly personalised, connected experiences across a multitude of channels, including SMS, web, email, voice, push notifications and Facebook Messenger.

 

This is a 3 month internship starting on £18,000 moving to a permanent role. Salary to increase when made permanent.
  
How you can expect to spend your day:


The junior technical tester is responsible for helping to ensure the quality of their software releases and mobile apps by testing new features in each release as well as assisting in regression and integration testing. Testing may be done via the UI or using external tools.

This is a technical role and you should be comfortable with:

  • A command line interface, using SSH and checking log files.
  • Interactions with developers will be on a very technical level.
  • Experience or knowledge of testing processes and procedures would be helpful, though not essential.
  • This role is based in our London office and reports to the QA Manager.
  • You will work closely with the development teams as well as members of the professional support team.
  • Some client facing work may be required as well during User Acceptance Testing

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with developers, project managers and technical consultants to understand new software features;
  • Design test cases and test scripts for testing new software features;
  • Test all new software features and log results;
  • Provide detailed bug reports and initial problem analysis;
  • Create and maintain regression test plans;
  • Write scripts to automate testing of some features;
  • Test mobile applications (iPhone and Android);

The ideal candidate’s personality and qualifications:

Ideally a Degree that is computer based. 

Although our client uses Linux, SQL and JAVA they are not very keen with the technical skill sets, they are looking for someone who is smart with right aptitude who can be trained for the technical skills

  • Interest in mobile technology and solutions;
  • Fast and enthusiastic learner;
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team;
  • Ability to use Linux;
  • Experience with SQL, including stored procedures;
  • Knowledge of XML and/or JSON;
  • Shell scripting, bash, awk, sed, perl, python scripting or other text processing scripts;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines;
  • Very good analytical skills including numerical literacy;
  • Professional demeanour.
