This is a permanent role offering £35K - £65K depending on experience based in Central London

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an enthusiastic Data Engineer to join the engineering team. As part of a small team you will collaborate across other engineering teams, data scientists, product managers and business operations to not only build the features, but validate, measure and
experiment at scale. We are looking for someone with a love for data and ability to iterate quickly on all stages of a data pipeline. This position involves developing large scale data pipelines and analytical solutions using Big Data technologies. The product set is continually
advanced with the latest technology including Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence as well as best practice guidelines.

What would you be doing?

  • Designing  and deploy large scale data pipelines and applications ready for production using 
  • Supporting preparation of data extraction for analytics including Machine Learning
  • Driving the adoption of Machine Learning in the organisation
  • Leading Machine Learning projects, by gathering requirements, creating a road map towards deployment of production level Machine Learning and assisting in the execution of this road map
  • Building Machine Learning pipelines and train models in collaboration with other engineers
  • Collecting, processing and cleansing data from a wide variety of sources and use this to reveal trends and patterns, and communicate insights to business users
  • Designing, prototyping and implementing predictive models and deliver results in dynamic environments, Proofs of Concept and Minimum Viable Products
  • Partnering with production to develop a deep understanding of our products to suggesting,
    collecting and refining  requirements, and turning  them into actionable road maps
  • By engineering the data infrastructure, you will support the analytics team and facilitate provision of insight and analysis to drive the business forward
  • Advising on best practices for use of Big Data and Machine Learning technologies

What experience do you need to have?

  • 5+ years of progressive experience with a broad set of technology stacks
  • Advanced Big Data experience
  • Advanced Machine Learning experience
  • Advanced understanding of data processing and distributed systems technologies (e.g.Hadoop, MapReduce, Oozie, Flume, Spark, SQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Kafka, Solr, Impala, etc.)
  • Intermediate SQL Database experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SqlServer or Oracle)
  • Intermediate NoSQL Database experience (MongoDB or CouchDB)
We offer:
  • Salary: £50,000 - £75,000
