After 13 weeks learning to become a junior developer, futureproof will help you land a two-year placement at a world-class organisation.

How you expect the candidate to spend their day:

The futureproof instructors have spent years working in industry and in education, so they know what it takes to be a great software engineer and how to train effectively.

Along with learning HTML/CSS, JavaScript, React and Python, you’ll learn how to work in an agile environment, develop your functional business skills, and learn about risk and cyber security.

Futureproof is a 13-week, full time course running Monday-Friday, 9am to 6pm, and will include the below modules.

 

  • Introduction to the web, coding in HTML & CSS and how to work as a developer
  • Programming principles and JavaScript
  • React, test-driven development and hosting a website and environment managementdatabases, cyber security and architecture
  • Python and data science
  • Functions and teams within organisations and their responsibilities: Marketing, Accounting, Finance, and Operations
  • How Marketing decisions are made, product roadmaps and design thinking
  • Giving and receiving feedback, goal/target setting, performance review processes, hierarchies and org. structures
  • Liquidity vs. profitability, finance and its relationship with technology, data analysis and data systems

The ideal candidate’s personality and qualifications

  • futureproof are looking for candidates who have already studied STEM (or similar) in a higher education setting or above
  • Previous coding experience is not a requirement - however, a genuine passion for learning and a structured approach to problem solving are necessities
