Our client is a communications consultancy operating in the UK. They offer full support with events, training, digital and creative media production.


Purpose of the role

We are looking for an Integrated Account Manager to join our clients London-based consultancy division. This pivotal role will see the successful candidate fee-earn for the agency by delivering integrated marketing and PR services, strategic communications and behaviour change campaigns for a range of clients.

They are a full-service agency. This role will involve using expertise combined with data, research and insight to help clients develop their communications strategy, and adopt the right mix of channels and tactics to achieve their goals. The successful candidate needs to be interested in how effective communication can deliver results that matter and have strong consultancy skills.

Working collaboratively with colleagues from across the agency – including press officers, content producers, graphic designers, digital specialists, event experts and strategic marketers – you will be the day-to-day point of contact for clients in the public and private sector.

You will have a busy portfolio of integrated accounts, overseeing the effective planning, implementation and evaluation of results-driven, integrated creative PR and marketing campaigns.

As a confident communicator you will consult with clients to ensure objectives align with wider business, organisational or operational goals. As a results-focused person, you will embed a culture of evaluation and reporting within the account team and ensure your recommendations to clients are grounded in best practice, insight and evidence.

Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities are all important attributes, along with demonstrating creativity, curiosity and an interest in current affairs. The successful candidate will be able to see the big picture, deliver at pace and do so with a positive and can-do demeanour that clients will love.

Ideal Candidate

Agency experience is desirable but not essential. The ideal candidate will have between 3 – 5 years’ experience working within a busy communications environment and hold a degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline.

This is an exciting role for someone looking to join a close-knit, friendly team, develop their integrated skillset and take online management responsibilities for the first time. Alternatively, perhaps you already have line management experience but are looking to convert PR / communications expertise into a role in an integrated setting, by diversifying your skillset into social media, content marketing, digital and events.

Key attributes and important aspects of the role include:

  • Applying critical thinking and consultancy skills to identify the optimum channels and tactics to help clients to achieve their goals, build their brand and manage reputation
  • Demonstrating strong client-handling abilities and a flair for building relationships, acting as the day-to-day point of contact for clients on activity
  • Ensuring all outputs are delivered to a high standard, on time and to budget, and are evaluated against clear KPIs
  • Adopting strategic communications skills to advise clients how to manage their profile within the media, including around contentious issues
  • Combining a keen news-sense, awareness of current affairs and eye for a story in order to deliver creative PR campaigns that result in quality coverage for clients
  • Using media relations skills to develop effective relationships with journalists and influencers Crafting high-quality news releases, articles, blogs and case studies that help clients to better tell their story
  • Using project management and team working skills to implement campaigns across PR, social media and digital channels, working with colleagues from across the agency and ensuring every deadline is met
  • Applying planning and negotiation skills to coordinate display advertising programmes, promotions, advertorials and sponsorships for clients within fixed budgets
  • Demonstrating creativity, forward-planning and attention to detail to develop creative briefs, scripts, storyboards and photo briefs for graphic designers, photographers and videographers, and quality-controlling outputs to ensure work is completed on time and to exceptional standards
  • Showcasing creativity, research skills and copywriting abilities to draft and edit engaging content for marketing collateral, infographics, websites and reports
  • Using social media skills to create and manage content for social media campaigns, while staying abreast of changing trends of different platforms
  • Applying commercial acumen to monitor service levels and work with the Director to minimise over-service and maximise the agency’s profitability
  • Being proactive by identifying opportunities to pitch ideas to clients, developing initial estimates/budgets (with support from the Director) and contributing ideas to inform new business
  • Using line management and coaching skills to support, oversee and motivate a junior direct report
  • You will also get the chance to get involved in running conferences and events, learn more about digital marketing and direct mail, and contribute to our own marketing.
