This is a 6 month paid internship with an opportunity for a full-time role based in London. Starting salary: £12,500 - £14,000 per annum. 

Key responsibilities of the role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a specialist challenger firm disrupting the traditional wealth management industry by focusing on modern efficient discretionary portfolios using Exchange Traded Funds / index funds. 

The job will be supporting the Chief Investment Officer.  The candidate must have or want to gain expertise in client administration, compliance and the retail investment regulatory framework, together with an advanced understanding of global multi-asset investment markets.

You can expect to spend your day:

  1. Participate in key asset allocation and investment selection discussions.
  2. Execute and monitor key investment decisions electronically.
  3. Analysis of third party research / proprietary research using Bloomberg and other tools.
  4. Ensure the accuracy of client portfolio data and update monthly investment communications to clients.
  5. Assist in preparing documents, reports and presentations for client / prospect meetings.
  6. Assist in research reports.
  7. Process client queries on an ad hoc basis, providing valuation reports and other documents.
  8. Maintain accurate client records.

The ideal intern’s personality and qualifications:

  1. Good numeracy and verbal reasoning skills
  2. Good knowledge of the MS Office suite of products
  3. Strong communication and teamwork skills to function effectively within a small group

Understanding and working knowledge or willingness to learn in the following fields:

  1. Index and Exchange Traded Funds
  2. Investment wrappers (SIPPs, ISAs)
  3. Model portfolios and asset allocation (across the retail and IFA space)
  4. Trading platforms and CRM software
  5. CF30 or desire to work towards this qualification, taking relevant exams where necessary
