Office Christmas party hangover cures

The Inspiring team are feeling a little worse for wear today after our office party last night!

Addison Lee predicted that yesterday, Thursday 13th December, would be a record-breaking night for Christmas parties in London. After fighting what seemed like every person in London to find a taxi to get home last night, we think they were right!

If you had your Christmas party last night and are now struggling to focus on your computer screen, here are some quick tips to get you through the day:

Drink, drink, drink…
Not the alcohol kind! The symptoms you are feeling post-drinking are signs of dehydration caused by the alcohol you consumed! It is so important to rehydrate to help your body recover. Putting lemon in your water will help your stomach and add vitamin C. If you don’t want to drink water then a glass of flat ginger ale will help soothe your stomach.

Slice of toast…
Have a slice of plain toast but avoid putting sweet or creamy things like jam or butter on it as it will upset your delicate digestive system.

Say no to caffeine and dairy products…
You may be feeling shattered after your late night and strenuous dancing activities, the Inspiring team were definitely throwing some fantastic shapes, but try and stay away from caffeine as it will only dehydrate you more. Milk and other dairy products are also not a good idea as they won’t sit well in your fragile stomach and may make you feel even more queasy.

A spoonful of honey …
A tablespoon of plain honey, or honey in hot water will help combat your dry throat.

Top up your vitamins…
Drink a glass of juice or eat fruit to top up your vitamin C levels. It will help give you the energy you need to get through the day. replenish your body.

Take a pain killer…
If all else fails, take an aspirin or ibuprofen, to help ease the headache.

Distract yourself…
Find someone else in the office who feels worse than you and laugh at them! Email round pictures you took from the night before of all the drunken antics.
